NEWS AND EVENTS
Please read the following requirements:
Please stay home if you have any cold-related symptoms or have travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days.
This would also include if you have been in contact with anyone who has a confirmed or probable case of COVID 19. To be safe, you can take a moment to complete the Alberta Self Assessment questionnaire.
Upon entering the building, you must wear a mask. This is now a requirement of the City of Calgary. Please remember to cover your mouth with your elbow when coughing or sneezing.
We are currently running one service per week, SUNDAY, 10:00 am.
10:00 – 10:45 am – Silent Meditation
11:00 – Noon – Reading Service
We request that no devotee visits the chapel for meditation outside the Sunday service to ensure Chapel Hygiene is maintained.
Chanting will be done silently, within your head, while listening to a recording. Coats or sweaters must be taken into the chapel with you and placed on the back of your seat. At the end of the service we request that devotees leave quickly and socialize outside the building or at a local coffee shop, maintaining proper distancing.
For the next few months we will not be offering Saturday long meditation or any special services. Please link in to the online services offered by SRF.
There will be no Sunday School scheduled until we feel safe in offering this.
The Chapel will be thoroughly wiped down prior to services and hand sanitizer will be available upon entry. Please wash hands in the washroom or hand sanitize on arrival. The chapel also has an air filtration system to assist in air purification and will be sanitized before each service. Devotees are requested not to touch door knobs or light switches, except if it is absolutely necessary. We request no hand shaking or hugs, pranams and smiles preferred! No shawls or cushions will be available.
Before you enter the Chapel, you will need to sign-in with your name and phone number. This will be used if, after the service, a devotee discovers that they have tested positive for COVID and we need to make the other attendees aware. Please arrive a few minutes early to fill the contact form.
All devotees will be responsible to maintain 2 meters distance. The Greeter will be at the entrance to the Chapel and will lead you to your seat. Family members are requested to sit together. Chairs have been removed to reflect reduced capacity.
The bookstore will remain open during the Sunday service. Purchases can be made through the Greeter.
As you can imagine, donations are greatly appreciated during these difficult times. There will be no offertory collection during the service but there will be a donation box at the Chapel entrance / exit. Any amount is appreciated! For guidelines on how to donate please click here.
